Fedders Corporation:

Fedders Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer of air conditioners, dehumidifiers and like products, turned to PICS when they decided to upgrade and fully implement version eB. Fedders Corporation is a long-time user of QAD Enterprise Applications ( MFG/PRO ) located in Effingham, IL with manufacturing and distribution facilities around the world. They were using an older version of QAD Enterprise Applications ( MFG/PRO ) for some of the business needs combined with a legacy system on an AS400 with some Inventory and GL interfaces between the two systems.

Through the combined efforts of Fedders Corporation and PICS, they were able to accomplish the following goals:

• Upgraded 7.4 to eB for the modules in use at that time which included Work Orders, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and limited Inventory Control
• Established a centralized QAD Enterprise Applications ( MFG/PRO ) GL database by providing GL training & some customizations to allow them to share a single COA accepting interfaces from QAD Enterprise Applications ( MFG/PRO ) as well as other legacy systems all over the world in various currencies
• Assisted with the implementation of virtually all modules available with version eB for 3 major divisions located across approximately 10 sites. Included work in Canada, Mexico, China and England as well as several facilities within the US. These implementations included training, project management, conference room pilots, specifications for customizations, integration with other software in use and data conversion for many modules from a legacy system including Sales Orders, Accounts Receivable and Inventory Control.
• Provided many customizations for inquiries, reports and triggers to capture additional information or prompt for document printing.
• Replaced an older version of Fedders custom PSI Software, which is a Production Scheduling & Inventory tool. This information is now stored in a custom Progress database populated from QAD Enterprise Applications ( MFG/PRO ) as well as a legacy COBOL based system.
• Eliminated the need for currency conversions, previously performed in Excel.
